Growing Hope is a local 501(c)(3) charity that “provides supportive, non-medical care to children with cancer and their families.” I have personally seen this organization in action and they are great people who really care. Every year they throw a picnic at Nottoway Park in Vienna, Virginia for pediatric cancer patients, their families, and the staff that takes care of them to enjoy time together outside of the clinical setting. Took some photos for a few weeks ago at a very special birthday party. Damian is Orlando and Silvia’s firstborn and the party was to celebrate Damian’s first birthday! I spent this past weekend at Awesome Con, Washington D.C.’s own comic convention.
