2014 Growing Hope Picnic

Growing Hope is a local 501(c)(3) charity that “provides supportive, non-medical care to children with cancer and their families.” I have personally seen this organization in action and they are great people who really care. Every year they throw a picnic at Nottoway Park in Vienna, Virginia for pediatric cancer patients, their families, and the staff that takes care of them to enjoy time together outside of the clinical setting. Damian’s First Birthday!

Took some photos for a few weeks ago at a very special birthday party. Damian is Orlando and Silvia’s firstborn and the party was to celebrate Damian’s first birthday! Lots of friends, family, and love. Damian’s party was held at the Audrey Moore RECenter in Annandale, Virginia. All images were captured with a Canon 5DIII, a Canon 24-105 f/4L IS, and a 580EXII.

Rebecca as Lara Croft

I met up with Rebecca a few weeks ago to do a cosplay shoot. We found each other on Model Mayhem and agreed that we wanted to update her portfolio with a few new images of her Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) cosplay. Awesome Con 2014

I spent this past weekend at Awesome Con, Washington D.C.’s own comic convention. The event is described by its Facebook page as a “celebration of popular culture, Awesome Con features a wide assortment of comic books, collectibles, toys, games, original art, cosplay, and more!” Awesome Con was a ton of fun – there were endless rows of incredibly talented artists and vendors, celebrities to meet, and cosplay enthusiasts to meet. Third Annual Skate for Catherine

Three years in a row! The Catherine Elizabeth Blair Memorial Fund is a local non-profit dedicated to raising funds for developing treatments for the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. The foundation held its first benefit event – “Skate for Catherine!” – on March 1st, 2012 at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia (blog entry here).
