A Happy Thanksgiving Message and Announcement

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! 2014 has been a tumultuous, exciting, and eye-opening year. Taking the plunge and going full-time with my passion for photography was a goal that I had once considered wishful thinking, it’s an amazing feeling to see where I am now. I am so happy and grateful to have had the support and good fortune over the past few years to have made my humble dream a reality. In my life before photography I spent five years working at a pediatric […]

2014 Growing Hope Picnic

Growing Hope is a local 501(c)(3) charity that “provides supportive, non-medical care to children with cancer and their families.” I have personally seen this organization in action and they are great people who really care. Every year they throw a picnic at Nottoway Park in Vienna, Virginia for pediatric cancer patients, their families, and the staff that takes care of them to enjoy time together outside of the clinical setting. These are just a few images from this year’s picnic. It’s […]

One Picture’s Journey

This post comes a bit late but I’ve definitely been busy juggling work, school, and shooting! I took this picture a while back during former Miss Virginia’s visit to our clinic. It was actually a candid that I was able to capture – the planets definitely aligned on this one.  The expressions, placement, and lighting (580 EX II bounced off ceiling) all made for a great image. A few weeks after taking the picture and sharing it with those involved […]
